1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using TaskTrap ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, you may not use the Service. These terms apply to all users, including visitors, registered users, and paying subscribers.

2. Description of Service

TaskTrap is a web-based task management application that allows users to create, organise, and track tasks using lists, due dates, and multiple views. The Service is offered in a free tier and a paid Pro tier with additional team collaboration features.

3. Accounts

You must provide a valid email address and create a password to register for an account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and password. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account. TaskTrap cannot and will not be liable for any loss or damage resulting from your failure to comply with this obligation.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • Violate any applicable laws or regulations
  • Infringe upon the rights of others
  • Transmit any harmful, offensive, or unlawful content
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Service
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure
  • Use automated means to access the Service without our permission

5. Free and Pro Plans

The free plan provides core task management features with a limit of 3 lists per workspace. The Pro plan is available on a per-workspace, per-seat basis and unlocks additional features including unlimited lists, team member invitations, task assignment, and per-member permissions. Pro pricing is £5/user/month or £48/user/year if billed annually.

6. Billing and Payments

Pro subscriptions are billed through Stripe. The workspace owner is responsible for payment. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period. You may cancel at any time through your workspace settings — your Pro features will remain active until the end of your current billing period. We do not offer refunds for partial billing periods.

7. Your Content

You retain ownership of all content you create within the Service, including tasks, lists, and workspace data. By using the Service, you grant us a limited licence to store, process, and display your content solely for the purpose of providing and improving the Service. We will not sell, share, or use your content for any other purpose.

8. Data Retention

Completed tasks are retained for 14 days before being automatically removed. Archived tasks are retained for 90 days. Tasks that have been inactive for 28 days may be flagged as stale. You are responsible for backing up any data you wish to keep beyond these retention periods.

9. Shared Status Pages

When you generate a shareable link for a task list, anyone with that link can view the list's progress without authentication. You are responsible for managing who has access to these links. You can revoke a shared link at any time through your list settings.

10. Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free. To the maximum extent permitted by law, TaskTrap shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.

11. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms. You may delete your account at any time. Upon termination, your data will be permanently deleted in accordance with our data retention policies.

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or through the Service. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

13. Governing Law

These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
